Norway
Norway – where stunning fjords are everyday sights Norway is perhaps most famous for its spectacular scenery. Pictures of the fjords and the mountain sites as Preikestolen and Trolltunga may be the most common images of this beautiful country. The amazing thing is that that you can easily actually go to all of these places and see for yourself.
You may do as the Norwegians and take a trekking trip to the mountains in the summer or to see the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights, in the winter. Or relax on a luxurious ship cruising the fjords, where the amazing sights actually come to you. The scenery is really stunning, with deep blue fjords, flowing waterfalls and sharp snow-capped mountains that tower high above the water. Formed during the ice age, this characteristic landscape hasn’t changed much since when people first came to live here. This landscape is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Along the sides of each fjord, you’ll find small communities, each with its own specialty that reflects its local traditions and what is possible to grow. The microclimate is ideal for growing fruits.
Nature is the thing in this beautiful country and the range of group activities reflects this: skiing, dog sledding, snowmobiles, cycling, zip-lining, trekking during all times of the year, and so much more.
The capital Oslo is developing fast with exciting architecture and design and great restaurants and hotels. Enjoy summer evening dinner along Aker Brygge, the quay right in the city center and watch the people stroll by and the boats leaving regularly for the islands.
Norway has for many years been rated as one of the top countries to live in. Thanks to a committed effort to preserve the green areas of the city and reduce emissions, Oslo has been named Europe’s green capital for 2019.
